  1. Kebayoran Lama: In Video

Posted by Luthfi Hasan in Video, Vintage Hunting

My friend Kariim just sent me another video which he shot, developed and edited all by himself. I watched it right away and thought I should share it with you again here. The video is a clip of our vintage hunting session to Kebayoran Lama a month ago. For someone who is new to vintage and flea market ideas, Kariim –he is fifteen years old, an intern in my office– has really good eyes in spotting good stuff. Three minutes and two shops, he already managed to secure a cool polaroid camera for himself. A quick learner. Watch and enjoy the video. The soundtrack is “The Pretender” by Datarock. Happy fasting Sunday!

  2. The Objects of My Affection 2

Posted by Luthfi Hasan in Vintage Space

Here is my vintage collection which i display at home. They are flea market and street finds from Taman Puring, Kebayoran Lama, Jalan Surabaya, Semarang, Saigon, Beijing and Tokyo. I am not into  collecting any particular objects, i just collect what i like when i spot it. Practically random. I was too sometimes confused and therefore made lots of bad judgement –i still do though, flea market situation can be overwhelming you know– but eventually i develop my own taste and interest, so I only take pieces that i think can work with other stuff.

  3. Finding Vintage at Brightspot

Posted by Luthfi Hasan in Cool Vintage

I am glad I made time to visit the most happening event in the creative fashion calendar in Indonesia: the 8th Brightspot Market (“a curated market of things cool”) in Gandaria City last weekend. And I am glad too that vintage is part of it. Yes, vintage presence can be seen everywhere here. Here are some photos of vintage products, look and feel from Brightspot point of view.

From 5000 visitors in the first event three years ago to over 55,000 passionate followers in the last event, Brightspot has made a spot among the hipster generation.

My Vintage Find: Look What I Get!

An antique glass painting of three ladies in kimonos which I found at Hana-Zuno flea market in Tokyo is a real steal. Besides, it goes just beautiful with the Chinese tennis player lady from Taman Puring. Do you have a street find or a flea market buy that you want to share here? Please send the photo(s) to luthfi_hasan@yahoo.com. Lets find and share!
